Geisinger Medical Clinic Buckhorn now open - Geisinger

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Furthering its mission to make better health easy for its patients and communities, Geisinger opened a new medical clinic that brings comprehensive care services, including primary care, senior-focused care and convenient walk-in services to Columbia County and the surrounding region.

Located at 240 Mall Blvd. in Bloomsburg, Geisinger Medical Clinic Buckhorn consolidates area primary care services under one room, and adds a new Geisinger 65 Forward Health Center and ConvenientCare walk-in clinic. The new location also offers a retail pharmacy, imaging and laboratory bloodwork services. The new facility marks a $10 million investment in new and updated services in the region.

"We're always looking for ways to make better health easier for the communities we serve, and we couldn't be more excited to provide this to our patients in Bloomsburg," said Tracey Wolfe, Geisinger's Chief Administrative Officer of Medicine Services. "Patients and members in Buckhorn will now be able to go to one central location for many of their medical needs."

The expansive primary care area brings together clinics formerly located in Millville and Bloomsburg. It features 37 patient exam areas and offers same-day and next-day appointments during the week.

While the primary care, laboratory and imaging services opened on Feb. 21, 65 Forward, ConvenientCare and pharmacy will open in the coming weeks.

The facility's ConvenientCare will be open seven days a week. The walk-in clinic provides care for minor health issues that can be resolved in a single visit, including cold and flu symptoms, allergies, earaches, tick removal, sprain and minor cuts.

The medical clinic's Geisinger 65 Forward is available to Geisinger Gold (Medicare Advantage) members and will provide care for patients 65 and older. Members will have access to appointment times up to 60 minutes and access to wellness, fitness and social activities. This will be Geisinger's ninth 65 Forward location across Pennsylvania.

Geisinger Medical Clinic Buckhorn is Geisinger's latest investment in the region. The health system announced in November that it also plans to construct a new specialty orthopaedic care center in Buckhorn to serve patients across central and northeastern Pennsylvania.
