Arlene S. Bierman, MD, MS, is director of the Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement in the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service. She also is a general internist, geriatrician and researcher.
In this video segment, Bierman explains health care research deals with at least two topics: conditions and diseases of the body, and the science of care, which include the systems to deliver health services to people.
