Doctor bats for standard vaccination schedule - Times of India
MANGALURU: There is an urgent need for vaccination service providers especially in the private sector to standardized immunisation cards to attain full immunization coverage (FIC). Dr Narayana Holla , Professor, department of community medicine, KVG Medical College , Sullia expressed apprehension over vaccine being denied or delayed in the private sectors, making their own and elite children susceptible. "Standardisation of vaccination schedule is the need of the hour," he said. After studying vaccination cards of various private hospitals including private medical colleges, Dr Narayana Holla told TOI, " World Health Organisation insists of Home Based Record (HBR) or standard vaccination card for every country. This will help parents know what vaccine should be administered at what time. Most countries follow a standard vaccination schedule and vaccines can be administered in any part of the country.
